c'onguri

Long necked four-stringed lute ('chonguri') made of wood, the back of the body formed of several ribs so that the end is flat, the ribs nailed at top and bottom and round side of bowl, the sound board drilled with multiple holes forming a large palmette surmounted by a tulip, and inlaid round the edge with different coloured woods. The peghead in the form of a solid scroll. The frets formed of fibre (?) tied round the fingerboard. The strings (one missing) attached to a metal fitting on the end block.
