Drum

Drum made of wood, animal hide, fibre cord and textile. Drum is of the hourglass or waisted shape, with lengths of cream, pink and black textile (cotton?) wrapped around the centre of the wooden part. The drumskin, which is stretched animal hide with remnants of fur and what is possibly the tail of the animal attached, has become separated from the drum itself. A length of twisted fibre cord is attached to the skin which may once have secured it onto the drum. The upper half of the drum and the outer surface of the skin has been coated in a pigment which is beginning to flake away from the centre of the drumskin. This pigment is orange-pink in colour.
