whistle

Double-chambered whistling bottle; hemispherical chambers, flaring spout, square-sectioned bridge. Design band on each chamber above equator; alternating fish and bird motfis. Bird surmounts one spout (missing beak); bridge patterned with interlocking triangles. Vertical mould seams down sides, so single mould-set for both chambers, including spouts; bridge and bird added, latter incorporating modelled whistle mechanism. Surface worn but originally polished. Black; pale fabric showing.
