Drum, pahu, made of wood, coconut fibre. Cylindrical drum, carved from whole, with solid internal base; lower outer base is carved with open rectangular shapes, with thick strip of wood encircling drum, bound with plaited coconut fibre, bindings forming a pattern of concentric diamonds. Outer surface of drum carved in low relief with pattern of concentric diamonds and horizontal lines. No skin over top.
