gusle

Fiddle ('gusle' or 'gusla'), carved wood with sound board of stretched goat skin, two horsehair strings attached to wood pegs, the scroll finial terminating in a goat's head with horns. The neck, pegs and bowl covered with incised floral geometric ornament. The nut that secures the strings at the base in the form of a carved wood human head.
