tambourine

Priest's tambourine carved from wood, with a stretched drum-head made of hide (with hair attached), fixed in place with a series of small wooden pegs. Two narrow slits cut into opposite sides of the wooden frame each have a long iron nail driven through onto which two roughly cut pieces of metal [tin?] are threaded.
