Bell

Decorated Bell; This is a late 18th - early 19th century 'rumbler' or 'sleigh' bell made by Robert Wells. It is inscribed with the initials "R" and "W" on either side of bell mouth. There is a petal pattern surrounding the inscription. This may be a later model; earlier versions had a square-shaped hanging loop. These objects are commonly found among the material culture of 19th century colonial sites in America.
