body: 3 flat pieces of sycamore, with peg at the end for the endgut; warm brown spirit varnish. Belly: 1 piece pine, slightly arched; f-holes (40mm) wide, rounded; no purfling, but a raised concave edge of ebony all round, continued over the endpin, above a narrow strip of sycamore added to the top of the body. Tailpiece: faded ebony, with lobed end, concave top, 2-hole tie and integrally carved nut; soundpost, bass-bar; fingerboard: sycamore thinly overlaid with ebony. Nut: fruitwood (?pear). Pegbox: carefully cut, bevelled edges, pierced at back with a small heart. Scroll: well cut, quite deeply grooved, with bevelled edges, small round bosses, and an extra half-turn of length.
