back: 1 piece sycamore, highly arched in midline, grooved along waist; edges ridged, rounded, corners rounded and not very long; purfling carried right into corners; varnish rich brown on gold. Belly: 1 piece pine, almost grotesquely highly arched in midline, with grooves at waist.; f-holes long, rounded, set high in body; single purfling, ridged rounded edges. Ribs: figured wood, angled contrary in the waist; a strip of purfling across endpin; endpin, nut, tailpiece in ebony; bridge cut to an old pattern; fingerboard thin, unwedged; neck, head 1 piece of figured wood. Scroll: carefully cut but inelegant. Pegs: 4, ebony, pearl spots in ends. Length 511, back 238, width 110/77/130, ribs 20
