Viola
back: 1 piece maple, rather highly arched, but dips gracefully to the edges; the regular purfling follows the outline round where the button would be, and into the corners, which are more pronounced than they would be on a viol. Belly: pine, moderately arched, with wide upright rounded soundholes (80 x 10mm). Ribs: sycamore, flush with back and belly; neck and head of similar wood; pegs and end-button old, of boxwood. Bridge by John Shaw. Length 610, body 370, width 190/135/240, depth 45
