back: round, flat, 2 pieces of wide-flamed sycamore varnished golden brown, with a double ink line round the edge; ribs: similar, all in one piece; endpin: turned boxwood; 12 ivory pins for 6 courses of strings; nut: ivory, flush with edge. Belly: flat, 2 pieces of pine, a double line of black ink round the edge and 4 lines around the sound-hole; rose: of brass (or a yellow alloy) within a delicately ribbed ivory circle. Fingerboard: ebony veneer, mostly hidden by tortoise-shell plates over red paint between the frets; 15 brass frets; nut: ivory; decorative pearl plates at the ends. Neck: sycamore, pierced for 4 capotasto holes; head: curved, with square finial of tortoise-shell. Bridge is later. Length 710, body 365, width 314, depth 58/80, strings 60, fingerboard 245
