body: round, elongated to a point at the bottom. Back: flat, one piece of sycamore, with a banded edge, fine ink lines and band of red paint; yellow-brown varnish. Ribs: all in one piece, of plain wood, decorated like the back; endpin: ivory; 3 ivory pins, 7 screws for strings. Belly: 2 pieces of pine, edged and decorated like the back; soundhole likewise; rose: cast brass (?spelter). Fingerboard: ebony veneer hidden by tortoise-shell plates over red paint between the 12 steel frets, with decorative endplates (missing here); 4 capotasto holes through the neck and fingerboard; capotasto original, ivory lined with leather painted red, with a brass screw and eye. Length 590 (head missing), body 380, width 295, depth 57/80, fingerboard 430
