Harp-lute
body: 3 pieces of sycamore painted black with gold lines with one longitudinal sound-slot in the flat centre-piece; the curved end has a bone sling-pin with a screw-on head. Belly: pine, slightly curved, with a rather crude cast garter-star rose in the sound-hole; the fixed bridge has holes for 11 strings. Fingerboard: ebony, with an ivory nut and 12 frets; a further nut has holes for 6 strings passing through it to posterior-fixed brass watch-keys; 5 more pegs and studs carry the unstopped strings; the pillar is round and slim with gilded volutes; head: round and flat, without finial, with a stylised rose painted on it.
