Flute. Nominal pitch: C.
Technical description: Glass; 4 sections; silver keys; 6 silver ferrules; metal tuning-slide; blue glass stopper; frosted inside bore; glass fluted [to reduce weight]; joints locked together, with head locking device giving scope for 10mm extension; small oval embouchure-hole with roughened lip area; overlapping low C/C♯ touches; G♯ hole on nearside. Keymount type: pillars with crescent-shaped base-plates; axle rods held to pillars by large-headed screws. D♯ keyhead pivoted, probably to ensure accurate sealing. Keyhead type: round, curved to fit body, except low C and C♯ for which the body is recessed.
