Oboe. Nominal pitch: C.

Technical description: Boxwood with silver keys and four ivory ferrules at the reed well, sockets and bell. The bell ring protrudes outside the wooden profile of the bell. There is an onion shaped baluster at the top of the instrument. Despite there being no third key the C key has a fish tail touchpiece. There are two vent-holes in the bell. There is an inward flange at the base of the bell. Keymount type: raised rings; SATK. Keyhead type: flat, octagonal keys with inwardly curving edges giving a star effect.
