Technical description: Boxwood, with ivory ferrules, ivory bell-rim, and brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell.Mouthpiece, socket-type of blackwood with an ivory ferrule. Stamped on reed side. Very short table; grooved with 11grooves for cord. Two highly waisted barrels with a wide ivory ferrule. Upper section: straight speaker; speaker liner projects to centre of bore. Two keys (throatA♭ for L2; side F₄/C₆) mounted in saddles.Lower section: wide ivory ferrule, no thumbrest. Two keys (alternative side B♮₃/F♯₅; F♯₃/C♯₅) mounted in saddles. Brass rollers on the keys for L4. Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling.All tone-holes under keys lined with brass (Wood's patent of 1800). L0: T; speaker.
