Bass drum.
Technical description: Lapped wooden shell (possibly ash or oak); with pattern of tacks at join; oval carrying harness ring mounted on rectangular plate, fixed to edge of lapped joint by four wood screws. Nine buffs, possibly original; calf heads, possibly original. 22-inch heads. Repair History: Evidence of repair in shell, but may be from original manufacture.
