Mute violin.
Technical description: Open framed instrument, frame of stained sycamore; neck and head of sycamore; tailpiece of ebony; pegs of boxwood; fingerboard stained rosewood(?). The instrument is violin-shaped and consists of the outline, a longitudinal centre piece and a cross piece under the bridge which has an arched piece glued to it and takes a standard violin bridge. The arched piece is of ebony. Standard violin scroll. Varnished in a walnut colour. Neck 131 long; fingerboard 252 long, 22.5 wide at nut, 38.9 wide at bottom.
