Lyra glockenspiel.

Technical description: 29 german silver steel bars of width 22 and lengths 86-199; arranged with A, B, D, E and G in vertical row on left hand side, C and F in centre and A?, B?, C?, E? and F? on right hand; Lyra frame has silver-plated horns and tapered socket at lower end to fit in marching holster or stand. Bars hang from removable pins in frame, now suspended by nylon monofilament. Four lengths of nylon line run down the instrument to support the bars out of contact with the frame. Repair History: Nylon monofilament suspension of bars and supports has replaced original thin catgut string, a tiny remainder of which is left on pin above lower C? key.
