Flute. Nominal pitch: C.

Technical description: Blackwood; 3 sections (body in one piece); silver keys; 4 silver ferrules; tuning-slide; screw-stopper; large oval embouchure-hole; large finger-holes; cork-lapped and metal-tipped tenons; metal-lined sockets; modern-style foot mechanism arrangement. The fingering system differs slightly from the normal 8-key flute: the left hand is the same, but depressing R1 takes down two hole covers simultaneously to give E, and the only fingering available for (a rather inadequate) F? appears to be to leave R1 up while depressing R2 and R3; cf. flute with Giorgi head (56). L0: B?. L1: B. L2: A. L3: PL - G. L4: G?; long F. R1: E; C. R2: PL - E. R3: D; cross F. R4: D?; low C?; low C roller. Keymount type: rod/pillar; needle springs except for B?, G? and long F (leaf). Keyhead type: cylinder cup; pads with central screws. Repair History: Extra touch soldered to B? key to lengthen it.Technical description: Blackwood; 3 sections (body in one piece); silver keys; 4 silver ferrules; tuning-slide; screw-stopper; large oval embouchure-hole; large finger-holes; cork-lapped and metal-tipped tenons; metal-lined sockets; modern-style foot mechanism arrangement. The fingering system differs slightly from the normal 8-key flute: the left hand is the same, but depressing R1 takes down two hole covers simultaneously to give E, and the only fingering available for (a rather inadequate) F♯ appears to be to leave R1 up while depressing R2 and R3; cf. flute with Giorgi head (56).
