Oboe. Nominal pitch: C.
Technical description: Boxwood with silver keys. The cylindrical reed well is lined with german silver. There are no ivory rings. There is an onion shaped baluster at the top of the instrument. Despite there being no third key the C key has a fish tail touchpiece. There are two vent-holes in the bell. There is an inward flange at the base of the bell. Keymount type: raised rings; SATK. Keyhead type: flat, octagonal keys with inwardly curving edges giving a star effect. Repair History: The cylindrical reed well and its lining are almost certainly later additions.
