Ferrules half-round on bell and lower section, tapered with rim on barrel.Mouthpiece of darker wood, with short table and grooved for cord.Barrel long (64.5mm), fusiform.Upper section: throatA? in brass saddle, perhaps later addition, the less good recessed wood to fit the key supports this supposition; speaker straight, liner projects into bore; tone-holes of speaker and F??/C?? keys lined with brass.Lower section: lever for F??/C?? seems to be bent; tone-hole for F?/C? in block; no thumbrest.Bell widely flared, with integral wood rim. Keymount type: blocks except for A? key which has a brass saddle with screw; leaf springs; touches of B? and C? keys are shaped so as to clear the prominent ferrule. Keyhead type: E?/B?? and G??/E?? keys have flat round heads rivetted to shank; others similar but integral. Repair History: A? key, of a different shape to the others and mounted in a neat saddle, may be later addition; Block for cross C??/G?? broken out and replaced; replacement broken and neatly repaired by capping with brass; a crack in the bell rim has been repaired leaving a triangular distorted uncoloured patch where the wood has been made flush with the rest of the rim.Technical description: Boxwood with horn ferrules and brass keywork.
