Dulcimer.
Technical description: Trapezoid shaped box; pine (?) soundboard; walnut (?) wrestplank. Whole instrument is painted, the paint applied very thickly and has now crazed. 19 courses of strings, three strings in each course. Holes in the bridges for the strings to pass through. Soundpost inside the instrument to support the soundboard. The soundboard thickness is approximately 5. Two sound-holes, each diameter 58. Sound-holes originally had roses. Square-headed tuning-pins. Iron handle for carrying the instrument on the long side. Repair History: The central bridge appears to be a replacement.
