Clarinet. Nominal pitch: B♭.
Technical description: Stained boxwood with ivory ferrules, ivory bell-rim, and brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Mouthpiece dark wood, long tenon, full-length table, grooved for cord. (possible not original) Barrel medium-waisted. Upper section: speaker liner projects to centre of bore. Lower section: Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling. Wide parabolic ivory ferrule, no thumbrest. Bell discontinuous, rim narrower than usual. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throatA♮. L2: T. L3: T. L4: E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T; trill key for throatA-B♮. R2: T. R3: T. R4: T; G♯₃/E♭₅. Keymount type: blocks; swelling. Keyhead type: flat, square. Repair History: Crack in barrel and two cracks c40mm long in bell have been filled. Trails of teeth on the mouthpiece.
