Bagpipe.

Technical description: With chanter, drone and blowpipe. the lowest finger-hole is offset to the right; there is a single sound-hole on the left hand side of the chanter; two extra holes are in the wall of the chanter in the area of the upper hand, possibly for keys. The chanter has the remains of a cane double reed bound onto a short staple with thread and set in the reed seat. Drone of two sections with the top section ending in a large bell, diameter approximately 65; a long single reed with tuning bridle of tape or paper is set in the bore and extends almost the length of the first section. Blowpipe with thin leather valve. Boxwood, with file marks evident especially on the chanter. Leather bag with closed plain weave cover in large red and green check with fringes round the three stocks. Fringe and tassels on the drone.
