Violin.
Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; fingerboard, back, ribs, tail-gut protector, neck and head of sycamore; endpin and pegs of hardwood. The instrument is of guitar shape showing some influence from the instruments of Chanot. The sound-holes are of a C shape, with nicks to indicate the bridge position. The soundboard has been made of two pieces, but they are not joined in the centre. Arch of soundboard 13mm. Varnish of a chocolate brown colour. Two piece back , 11mm arch, of figured sycamore with a close deep figure, almost horizontal but slightly up in the centre. Flattish fingerboard. Neck is 132 long; fingerboard 263 long, 19.1 wide at nut, 41.7 wide at bottom.
