Technical description: African blackwood with silver plated keys and ferrules at the sockets. The reed-well and the sockets are lined with metal and the tenons are tipped in metal. Automatic octave keys with two duplicate touches. The linkage between the two octave touches has a roller mechanism to prevent the keys sticking. Depressing the G♯ key lowers the L3 ring. The four L4 keys mounted on the lower joint are arranged on a single axle in a double butterfly arrangement, lowB and E♭-dup making the upper wings and lowB♭ and F-dup the lower. The R3 F key has a roller to help the slur to D without using forked F. Depressing the lowC key lowers the R3 ring and the R2 plate and closes the brille.
