Cornet. Nominal pitch: B♭.A.
Technical description: Silver-plated brass. Leadpipe enters 3rd valve casing at the right; 3rd valve loop leaves from 30° left of front and returns to 15° right of front; bellpipe exits 1st valve casing at 15° left of back. Fixed mouthpipe model; with quick-change valve, probably original. With double water-key with a single touchpiece; fitting for music card holder. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top-sprung with spring outside stem, alignment by key on piston; 'Solbron' bronze valve pistons; rotary quick-change valve. Repair History: Legs of main tuning-slide extended to lower from Old Philharmonic pitch; restored to high pitch in 2002.
