Euphonium. Nominal pitch: B♭.
Technical description: Copper with nickel silver ferrules, stays, bow guard etc. The normal British 5-valve tuning arrangement, the 4th valve lowers by 5 semitones, the 5th valve by 1 semitone. Valve type: 5 Périnet valves. Repair History: Touchpieces for valves 4 and 5 are replacements. There are ferrules between the bows where cuts have been made at some time to allow dent removal. At some time the instrument was silver-plated; this plating was removed in 1990. The bell rim, an applied brass strip (not wired), may be a replacement.
