Tenor violin (British nomenclature, tenor violin).
Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; ribs, back, neck and head of maple; fingerboard, tailpiece, tail-gut protector of ebony; pegs and endpin of rosewood. Wide grained soundboard. Soundboard arch 27.5mm. Orange varnish. Dyed pear/poplar/dyed pear purfling. Fine figure on the two piece back, figure rising from the edges to the centre. Back arch 27mm. Plugged hole on the back at the top, offset from the centre line. Unvarnished neck, 245 long. Fingerboard 508 long, 26.5 wide at nut, 59.2 wide at bottom. The head and neck of one piece.
