Baritone violin (British nomenclature, baritone violin).

Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; back, sides, head and neck of maple; pegs, fingerboard, tail-gut protector of ebony; tailpiece and end-spike holder of rosewood. The soundboard is wide grained. Dyed pear/poplar/dyed pear purfling. Soundboard arch 31mm. Ribs have a medium depth figure, the 2 piece back also has a medium depth figure, the figure going towards the bottom in the centre and up at the edges. Back arch 31mm. Plugged holes at the top and bottom of the back. Instrument is covered in an orange varnish, possibly with a stain originally applied to the soundboard giving a reversed grain effect. One piece head and neck. Neck 285 long; fingerboard 605 long, 32.9 wide at the nut, 65.1 wide at the bottom.
