Technical description: Compass A*0 - A₇ [AAA - a'''']. Small upright piano with protruding keyboard surmounting helical legs ('spiral columns'). Case of burr walnut. Ivory natural touchplates length 47, ebony accidental touchplates length 98. 'Barley sugar twist' legs attached to the frame pieces which extend from the rear section of the case. Three-octave span 491. Depth of the case not including the projecting keyboard 340. Single strung A*0 - E♭₁, double strung E₁ - C♯₂, triple strung D₂ - A₇ Two pedals, the left-hand a 'celeste' inserting a strip of felt; the right-hand a sustain. Music desk attached to the main part of the case, not the keyboard projection. Instrument on castors. Repair History: Overhauled to playing condition by Arthur Chappell, 1977. The fretwork above keyboard replaced with the from another piano (supplied by Roy Mickleburgh), fitted and extended by Andrew Garlick, 1978. Green silk cloth fitted by Andrew and Jane Garlick, 1978.
