Side drum.
Technical description: Brass shell, counter-hoops and fittings; wooden flesh hoops. 8 steel tension rods and wing nuts. Unusual in that the tensioning wing-nuts are at the batter head end, not underneath as now usual. Top counter-hoops with horseshoe-shaped belt hook loop. 14-inch heads. Repair History: Top (batter) head fitted with an old snare head skin, possibly original.
