Viola d'amore.

Technical description: Two piece spruce soundboard, flame sound-holes plus circular sound-hole under fingerboard. Soundboard has ebony/sycamore/ebony purfling and an ivory edging. 2 piece back and ribs of sycamore with a light figure, figure descends from centre of back. Ivory edging pieces for the back-rib corner, and the corners between the ribs. Soundpost plate c50 wide; soundpost present. Added button capping on back of deep figured sycamore, and shield below of birds-eye maple. Nut, fingerboard, tailpiece of ebony. Head and neck of sycamore, edging on top and bottom of head in ivory. Lion's head finial. Bowed string pegs of rosewood, sympathetic string pegs of boxwood (?). Varnished in a clear golden brown colour.Neck 161 long; fingerboard 294 long, 32.8 wide at nut, 52.9 wide at bottom.
