Solo alto. Nominal pitch: 6½-ft E♭.
Technical description: Silver-plated brass. Bell-forward form, like scaled-up cornet, the compact form held close to the player. Water-key on leadpipe; music card holder fitting complete. The bore profile can be considered to be of cornet proportions rather than saxhorn proportions, probably intended to give a bright sound for solo playing. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung; alignment by 3 unequal lugs on spring plate.
