Soprano cornet, Nominal pitch: E♭.
Technical description: Silver-plated brass. Ligature tuning at mouthpipe; water-key. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: The tuning shank may be a replacement provided to lower the pitch of the instrument from Old Philharmonic to A₄ 440Hz. Original fitting for music card holder was soldered to outer 3rd valve tuning-slide, now missing and replaced by a removable fitting to clamp on this tuning-slide, from the same period.
