Serpent Forveille. Nominal pitch C

Technical description: Only the distal section (air-column length c 1205) remaining: wooden body (long straight bell section with one bow). The bow portion covered with leather, almost imperceptibly blending to the varnished wood of the bell. It might be conjectured that the missing portions to be similar to (3683) which is complete, viz. an intermediate brass section with two bows and a brass crook. Brass rim mount on bell; brass clip music card holder fixed to bell. R0: Keymount type: brass saddle.
