Cornet. Nominal pitch: B♭ etc.
Technical description: Brass. 'Modèle français', with the valves positioned to the left of both mouthpipe and bellpipe. 3 normal valves and one special valve whose function is not clear.Windway leads from tuning-slide to 3rd valve via a longitudinal piston valve operated by the left hand thumb; this piston has three straight-through cocquilles: one aligned with the ports when valve not operated, one aligned with the ports when valve operated, and one without any apparent function. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves.
