Technical description: Viennese action grand pianoforte. Compass 78notes, C₁ - F₇ [CC - f'''']. Trichord stringing except the lowest five notes which are bichord. Brass strings C₁ to G♯₂; iron strings A₂ to F₇. Four pedals: outer left una corda; inner two pedals moderator; outer right sustaining pedal. The duplication of the inner pedals could be for four-handed duet playing. The moderator interposes strips of woollen cloth between the hammers and the strings.
