BB♭ bass. Nominal pitch: B♭.

Technical description: silver-plated brass. 3-valve compensating system: 3rd valve brings loop into windway which passes through 1st and 2nd valves, these have short additional loops which are brought into the windway when used in combination with the third valve. Water-keys on 1st v.t.s. and m.t.s. Fitting for music card holder; two loops for sling. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: Replated by Mayers & Harrison, 1962.
