Set of bellows-blown Lowland pipes, the drone stock ferrule inscribed 'RM'., Technical description: Set of bellows-blown Lowland pipes in ebony with ivory mountings.Chanter: Ebony with ivory bulb. Seven finger-holes and one thumb-hole. Chanter carved with bands between each finger-hole and bound with metal wire.Common stock: Ebony mounting block holds the drones into the ivory ferrule.Drones: Three drones: bass and two tenors. Tenor drones of two sections, bass of three sections. Ivory mountings and tops.Bellows: bellows with decorative wood inlay in the design of a bagpipe with a flag flying from the bass drone. Ivory ring around air intake. Metal hook and mounts for straps - no straps present. Metal mounting at hinge.Measurements: chanter length undeterminable, bore 5.1; bass drone length c605, bore at top 11.5; tenor drones length: c270, bore at top 9.3. Repair History: At one point the wood around the thumb-hole has been cut away.
