Valve trombone. Nominal pitch: C.
Technical description: Brass; short model; French bell rim. Windway runs: mouthpipe - m.t.s. - 1 - 1 - 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - auxiliary m.t.s. - joint - bell, with alternative loops between upper and lower valve ports, the longer coming into use when the valve is operated. Valve type: 3 Périnet-type valves, bottom-sprung, alignment by key on piston. Flat bottom caps with three perforations and interior screwed rod attached to bottom cap which meets a cork buffer attached to the underside of the piston., Repair History: The interior cork buffers on valves 1 and 2 have been replaced by conventional corks under the touchpieces.
