Melophone

Guitar-shaped body, the belly of a single piece of sycamore, with two f-shaped soundholes backed with red silk and bordered all around with two lines of inlaid ivory stringing. Body, in two sections, of ebonised wood inlaid with brass stringing and pierced all around sides with c-shaped soundholes. Upper section contains key mechanism, lower section the bellows. Neck and scrolled head also of ebonised wood, with 84 metal buttons in head and vent level on underside of neck.
