Bassoon

Figured maple covered with dark brown varnish, in five joints (wing joint consists of two parts) with five brass mounts. Twelve circular brass keys (and one now missing) mounted on brass saddles. The bell end has been repaired and the tuning slide in the wing joint shortened. The two octave keys are fitted with adjustable slides. Curved brass crook. Owner's initials, V.F., on boot joint in brass nails. Pitch of the instrument: F.
