Oak, veneered on all sides (including spine) with mahogany panels and crossbanding, lines in boxwood. Compass: FF–c'''. 3-octave span: 487. Action: English grand action. Hand stop: in right-hand key-end block, wooden slip for limiting the lateral movement of the keyboard when the pedal is depressed, allowing the player to choose between creating due corde or una corde when down or up respectively. Two pedals. Left: una corda or dur corde depending on the position of the hand stop. Right: sustain (lifts dampers). Stringing: Trichord throughout. Divided bridge, breaks between G sharp (last brass string) and A (first steel string). All three strings for each note have the same sounding lengths. String lengths were measured when the instrument was unstrung.
