Damaru
Double-headed, cord-braced, hourglass or rattle drum. Turned wooden body of diabolo shape, painted in pink, gold and black bands. Two skins lapped onto hoops. W-bracing of cord. Tensioned by continuation of cord as girdle. Two ends of cords terminate in pellets formed from the cord itself, decorated with (and shape maintained by) red threads.
