Talam
Small cymbals used in " Cinnamelam" orchestra. One of brass, one of another metal. Smaller and lighter than those used in the " Periyamelam" orchestra. Cymbal, drum and vocal accompaniment together produce the rhythmic patterns called " jatis" , which guide the dancer.
