Duty trumpet
Duty trumpet, 1890; brass; double loop tube brazed in three pieces; reinforced bell edge, bell surface impressed with maker’s name, Henry Potter and Co, London and regimental initials; silver plated mouthpiece edge, impressed with maker’s name; red, yellow and blue worsted cords with tassels; used by the Royal Horse Artillery supposedly to sound the retreat at the Battle of Modder River, 28 Nov 1899.
