Side Drum, brass, 1918; used by the Royal Irish Regiment; metal impressed to right with maker’s name, Winsor, Birmingham; front panel painted blue with royal arms on four union flags in centre inscribed with regimental name, the whole above a scroll inscribed with a motto, to the left and right are scrolls inscribed with battle honours, and renovators name painted in red, George Potter and Co, Aldershot; flesh hoops and drum heads whole; nine rope holes; white blancoed cord and buff slides; partially plated drag rope; three ball-footed metal legs on upper hoop, painted blue outside with red edge and white worm and white inside with red edge and blue worm; four snares.
