Side Drum, brass, 1881 (c); used by the 1st Battalion Prince of Wales’s Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians); painted black; front bears Prince of Wales’s Plumes Coronet and motto above the number 100 within a crowned roundel inscribed with the regimental name and below, the battle honours, and to the right is the renovators name, Boosey and Co, London; flesh hoops and drum heads hole; nine rope holes; white blancoed cords; plaited and unplaited drag rope; three iron ball legs on upper hoop painted blue outside with red edge and white worm and white inside with red edge and blue worm; four hemp snares.
